I used to just think that credit cards gave you a huge credit limit and charged a bunch of interest on top, but after seeing the products on offer at this site and reading more about credit cards, I think I may need to get one for myself.

There is this really useful page the site has where you can compare credit cards based on their major features. It seems stupid now, but I really had no idea what the interest rates on online credit cards were like. I just thought they were high, and I had no idea about interest free days on purchases. My parents were always suspicious of credit cards, so I guess I must have picked it up from them.

To be honest, with interest free days and the low interest rates that some online credit cards offer on the site, I find it hard to believe that credit card companies can make any money at all. I mean, as long as you repay your card in time to beat interest, your card should only cost you the annual fee each year to use. It’s not like the credit is money I actually have, so obviously I’d just use the card as convenient way of shopping online and keeping costs together. I really think I should seriously consider applying for online credit cards.

Thinking about getting a credit card

Thinking about getting an online credit card

I’m getting sick of working through convoluted processes for paying for my online shopping purchases. I decided the other day to get a credit card so I’ve been looking online and recently stumbled across www.OnlineCreditCard.com.au.

It seems like a pretty good site, as it has this comparison page that let me compare credit cards really easily. I really wasn’t sure what I could get in an online credit card before, but now I definitely think i have a better idea of what could help me.

A credit card with interest free days would probably be a good option for me, because I want to just repay the credit card as soon as I have the money. It was pretty easy to find an online credit card with interest free days on the comparison page, as it was one of the main features you could compare. I’m not entirely sure how credit cards can make any money by offering this feature, but it certainly doesn’t worry me!

I haven’t quite decided which credit card I’ll go for yet. I might just look at everything on the site for a little bit longer. Some of the reward program credit cards seemed like good value, but I don’t know if I could resist the temptation to spend more in order to earn more reward points. I’m fairly sure using an online credit card will make payment for online stuff easier, though, so I guess I’ll take my time deciding on one.

My shiny new TV

I had my mind set on getting an LCD TV for a while now, but I couldn’t get the money together and I was looking into my credit options. I ended up looking for a credit card on this Australian site that has a really good range of stuff, www.CreditCards.com.au.

I first thought had been to just ring my bank and ask what they had. I’m glad I didn’t and decided to look for an online credit card instead as there’s no way I would have gotten as good a deal if I’d gone to just one bank. I didn’t realise how little I knew about credit cards before, or about how credit card companies can offer deals that seem like they should run them out of business.

Anyway, I was going to just look for credit cards with a low cost and low interest rate at first, but after looking at the comparison page this site had, I decided it might be worth more consideration than that. I figured I could probably repay the TV back pretty fast but not within any interest free period, so low interest credit cards might be a good choice, but the amount of reward points a big purchase like a TV could earn got me interested in reward program credit cards.

I ended up looking in the ANZ credit cards page and found the ANZ Balance Visa. It seemed like the right credit card to get me to repay my TV, as it rewards for repayments instead of spending. It has interest free days and a pretty good purchase rate, so I think it’ll be worth keeping after the TV is paid off.

The best part was how little effort it all took, as the comparison pages on the site were linked to the credit card application forms. Once I’d decided what I wanted, I just clicked through and the rest of the process was pretty straightforward. I provided some details and then submitted the form. A couple of weeks later I’m watching my new TV and earning reward points as I pay off.

No Change In Cash Rate Could Be Good News For Personal Loans

The good news for those considering personal loan refinancing is an RBA suggestion that interest rates could remain at current levels for some time to come, says PersonalLoans.com.au.

Australia (PRWEB) June 11, 2008 -- At its Board meeting on Tuesday 3 June, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) decided to keep the cash rate at 7.25 per cent due to tighter financial conditions and a slowdown in demand. Despite concerns about inflationary effects on wages and price setting, the current outlook of the RBA suggest that there is a good possibility that rates could remain at current levels for some time to come. This is good news for those considering refinancing their personal loans, as while lenders will need to maintain a tough fiscal policy in order to keep rates rising, they will also need to offer better terms in order to remain competitive.

Personal Loans Website

The good news for those considering personal loan refinancing is an RBA suggestion that interest rates could remain at current levels for some time to come.

"The good news for those considering personal loan refinancing is an RBA suggestion that interest rates could remain at current levels for some time to come."

Many people are turning to debt consolidation in order to reduce the amount of interest they are paying on bad credit in the current financial climate. While the cash rate remains high this will probably continue to be a popular option for those seeking to be debt free, but tighter conditions could mean that many borrowers will be unable to cover the entire amount of their debts with a single consolidated loan. This can be compounded by consumers being unfamiliar with the wide range of lenders on the market for personal loans, as often they will stop searching after they have only applied with the biggest banks.

There are websites that can help the average person to become more familiar with the personal loans industry, such as personalloans.com.au which has many pages dedicated to loan information, lending articles, news as well as the ability to compare personal loans of the some of the best lenders in the industry. This site also goes into detail about applications for personal loans and what high risk individuals can expect lenders to offer them. In such a confusing financial climate, resources like this are necessary to keep people informed about what is on offer for personal loans.

Customers Are Unaware of What Savings Accounts Offer

Savingsaccounts.com.au is expanding its reach due to research that suggests the public is unaware of what saving accounts can offer them. It's a valuable tool for the average person looking to take their savings to the next level, while also helping consumers make better choices in savings accounts. "We're currently expanding our writing team in order to get more information out there on savings accounts. It's a very exciting time, and we hope to reach a much wider audience very soon," says Mr. Shadforth.

With sites like this, Australians do not need to spend time keeping track of the best deals on savings accounts as they can be conveniently kept up to date. Australian consumers who want to get the most from their savings should remember to search online for the best deals on savings accounts.

Savings accounts are the most important financial products that the average person uses, yet so many consumers are unaware of what they can and should offer. "It is quite usual for someone to merely choose savings accounts based on what friends or family have used in the past, rather than through research into the best savings account interest rates or the security of online savings accounts," says Shadforth. "Even those who are skilled at budgeting in order to maximise their savings may not be aware that they can experience further growth on their wealth without risk by simply choosing a better savings account."

Personal loans, savings accounts and online comparisons

Are you looking for a new personal loan or car loan or are you unsure of the benefits of personal loans?
Their are some great new websites focused on the benefits and advantages of various financial products. The Jobs.com.au business was acquired in June 2007 by a Brisbane-based web publishing firm. Since the original relaunch of Jobs.com.au in 2007, the website has continued its rise in popularity to its current standing as one of the highest ranking job sites in Australia.

Jobs.com.au CEO, Peter Andronicos, understood the need for a more comprehensive user experience if the website was to grow, the dynamic career website JOBX was approached to further develop the functionality of Jobs.com.au. This partnership has benefited JOBX by providing them with much more high quality traffic than they would normally have expected and has shown exceptional results in a very limited amount of time. A marked increase in the exploration of the pages on Jobs.com.au has also been felt, demonstrating that users have embraced the changes with gusto.

With the unemployment rate at astonishing lows of 4.0% in March 2008, job search sites offer more potential than ever before in helping people into the careers they want. Low unemployment and a high level of new jobs being advertised every day means that users more than ever before will need easily accessible and understandable help to sort through the massive range of career choices. Signs that job advertisements have fallen in both February and March indicates some slowing of the economy, but this makes it more vital than ever to get into the right job before competition rises again.

Using the JOBX platform allows Jobs.com.au to provide a range of tools and resources for job seekers. From job-related videos, including tips on how to do well in interviews to inspiration and advice from experts in their field. There's also a range of web 2.0 features such as the job wiki, polls, webinars, job news, competitions and podcasts. Jobs.com.au also provides a cheaper alternative for employers to advertise a job online with listings starting from just $29.95.

Jobs.com.au provided a portal to many top career websites and job search tools from its original launch in 2007, but the redesign of the site has dramatically improved the range of user experience. A powerful search tool has been added to the site, making it much more convenient to find the best jobs, as well as a massive expansion of the job categories index to help users of all kinds to narrow down their search criteria even further. Additionally, extra resources and training possibilities have been added to the Jobs.com.au site by JOBX, giving users help beyond just searching through advertised positions.

Source - PRWeb Jobs 18/04/08

Jobs in finance and banking

If you are looking for a job in the finance and banking sector a new website in Australia called jobs, or jobs.com.au has just been released. have a deep dependancy, more so than our Asian neighbours.

The survey was conucted across various consumers in Asia Pac across seven countries.
The survey was conducted across China, Indiam Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea, of these countries Australiaa reported over 51% of us would be lost without our creditcards.

Way to go the Aussies!!!

It was reposted that 3.5 % of us use our credit cards more than 20 times per week to pay groceries, and other consumer goods as well as bill payments etc.. Over 12% use our cards 11 time+ per week.

One promising point was that we (Australians) have the least number of credit cards per person.

We did come second overall however as China lead the field of Credit Card consumerism with 70% claiming they would be lost without their creditcards. The survey found the Chinese credit card holders used their cards 5.4 times per week.

With the hiughest level of interest charged on credit cards we Australians need to begin looking for alternate methods to pay bills and buy products, this will only lead one way... increasing profits for the banks and increasing our debt.
<img In my personal experience I have see my credit card issuer offering me free withdrawals from any of their atm machines, however if I withdraw money from a competing banks ATM machine I get stung with $1-$2 fees. This is crazy when you consider if your only pulling out $20 to buy a quick dinner your paying a staggering 10% to get to your own funds - crazy!

The figures I have mentioned may differ between banks and accounts so dont take my word for it, ask your bank and see how much a non approved bank withdrawl is going to cost you.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards

Qantas Rewards Programs

Most people when signing up for a credit card look at the benefit that is offerred in a rewards partner, most Australian's who use their credit card do so to receive Qantas Frequent Flyer Points.

In this section we have listed the institution and its reward or points calculation that equates to Qantas Frequent Flyer Points.
