Credit Card Abuse

A recent news report submitted by the Herald Sun has shown some very interesting figures on our goverment and Credit Card Abuse!

• Over 87,288 Credit Cards have been issued to the Federal Governments staff, this is a rough total of Credit Cards issued over the past 6 years.
• The Goverment officials have lost over 2,686 publicly funded ministerial credit cards.
• A reported 70 credit cards have been stolen
• The defence department has reportedly lost 90% of credit cards across the goverment
• over $73,000 dollars have been accrued in late payment charges due to late bill payments etc..
• A total of over $121,408 has been lost over the past six years
• 10 Staff have been criminally prosecuted

The people footing the bill for the missuse and irresponsible behaviour is us, the tax payer!
The strange thing is some of these cards do not even have caps or limits of purchase etc..
